Hall for Cornwall Youth Theatre

Since 2013 i have been the Artistic Director of the Hall for Cornwall Youth Theatre where i oversee the creative output of the three core groups (Juniors, Inters, Seniors).

In 2016, I directed Patrick Marber’s ‘The Musicians’ as part of the National Theatre’s CONNECTIONS 500 project.  Following two successful performances in Cornwall, the production was one of twelve shows (out of five hundred) to be chosen to be performed in the Dorfman Theatre on the Southbank in London.

In 2017, Simon directed Anna Reiss’s ‘45 Minutes’ as part of a double bill of shows which the Senior Youth Theatre Toured to venues across Cornwall.

I am currently directing Hellsmouth with the Senior Youth Theatre, which will be the last piece of live theatre to be performed on the Hall for Cornwall stage on May 31st.

Lecturing

I am an Associate Lecturer on Falmouth University’s BA FILM course, where i have taught since 2009.

I am also an Associate Lecturer at Falmouth’s Academy of Music and Theatre Arts, teaching on the ACTING course.

Workshops

I am an experienced an workshop leader having worked with young people and children in a variety of contexts throughout my career.  I have worked with groups and individuals of all ages and abilities in formal and informal settings across the UK and abroad. 

I specialise in running workshops based on performance, acting, improvisation and ensemble / group work and devising.

I have also delivered workshops  / projects for emerging performers, dancers, teachers and design students.
